Continuing education for seniors? What’s that all about?
It’s been said that you can never stop learning, and recent research shows this to be true. It turns out that learning new things, even, and especially as we age, has significant wellness benefits. Our brains are remarkably adaptive and the process of taking in and working with new information helps keep our minds in tip-top shape.
Another thing to consider is that, as we age, we may find ourselves with more time to pursue new interests. That’s why Everleigh offers a range of educational opportunities, including computer education for seniors, health and nutrition classes, personal finance instruction, and academic courses that cover multiple disciplines.
Computer Training
Let’s face it, there’s a good chance that your children and grandchildren are pretty tech-savvy. You’ll be able to show them a thing or two, plus keep in touch via email and social media, after taking our computer and software classes.
Writing
Writing is a time-honored craft of self-expression and discovery. It is also an opportunity to share your knowledge and wisdom with others. Work with an instructor and other class members to craft poetry and prose.
History
Learning about history and reading literature offers an opportunity to engage with and understand the past. This knowledge can be applied in many ways, including our own understanding of current events.
Genealogy
Genealogy as a hobby has been on the increase since the availability of DNA testing and online genealogy databases. Our classes teach you to research your family tree.
Personal Finance and Legal Issues
Your retirement and pre-retirement years are a time of change. That’s why we offer classes on issues such as estate planning, government benefits, and investment options.
